Priorities for District 4
Economic Development
As a result of the global pandemic, businesses in Dallas have struggled tremendously, some beyond repair. Maxie will ensure aggressive economic development that will focus on small businesses in District 4. Maxie will advocate to bring more businesses and work, creating equitable growth that focuses on empowering our youth and employing our residents, particularly in the African American and Hispanic communities in District 4.
COVID Recovery
Our health is the most important thing we have. Maxie will continue to advocate for more COVID testing sites and locations where the vaccines can be distributed in District 4.
Public Safety
The level of gun violence and drug crime in District 4 is unacceptable. Maxie will work with District 4 residents, community stakeholders, churches, local businesses, and new Dallas Police leadership to reduce crime, small and large, and return District 4 back into one of the safest communities in the City of Dallas.
Neighborhood Revitalization
Maxie will advocate for enhancing the quality of life, access to wifi, and clean air. Pot holes are a major concern. Maxie will fix neighborhood streets, support property upkeep, affordable housing, and clean parks in District 4.
Community Input
District 4 deserves a voice downtown. Maxie will build the District 4 Community Coalition, an open group of constituents that meets monthly to share updates and discuss issues concerning our community. Maxie will also advocate for the equality of the
LGBTQ+ Community.
